Tobacco companies have had a long history in the United States. In fact, early Texas settlers grew the plant for personal consumption and then commercial use in the 1890’s.
Since then, Texas has been implementing laws and developing programs to increase awareness and prevent tobacco use among Texans.
The modules presented within this training will:
1. Provide a historical overview of tobacco prevention efforts in Texas.
2. Reveal dirty tricks and deceptive campaigns the tobacco industry used.
3. Show the purpose and evolution of the statewide youth movement known as Say What!.
